On December 24, 2007, the fourth anniversary of the start of construction for the National Stadium (the "Bird's Nest"), a press conference for the launch of the "Bird's Nest" official website was held in Beijing. The official website was constructed solely by Sohu.com Inc., the official Internet Content Service sponsor of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. For the first time, 3-D virtual display technology has been applied to the website.
