(Beijing, May 23) This evening, the men's 100m final of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 China Athletics Open saw China's Zhang Peimeng clinching the title with a personal best of 10.23. Following suit by a narrow margin of 0.01 second was Hu Kai, who became the third Chinese athlete to have reached the Olympic Qualification B for the event, also with a personal best record, after Zhang Peimeng and Wen Yongyi.

Running in the lane next to Zhang Peimeng was Wen Yongyi from south China's Guangdong Province, who finished sixth in 10.36. According to the rules for Olympic qualification, if eventually none of these three sprinters reaches the Olympic Qualification A, one of them will be awarded a berth to the Olympic Games. Therefore, it can be predicted that the three of them will train even harder to vie for this precious ticket in the coming selective trials.
