(Beijing, May 24) In today's women's 4x100m heats Round 1 of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 China Athletics Open, China ranked first with a time of 43.50 seconds to advance to the final.

Consisting of Tao Yujia, Wang Jing, Jiang Lan and Chen Yu, the team of China, in Lane 7, edged their Japanese opponents by a narrow margin of 0.17 second in Heat 2. The Guangdong team was third with 45.11.

Other teams that have qualified for the final were: Thailand, Shanghai, Guangxi, Heilongjiang and Jiangsu.

Prior to that, China has already earned a berth in the Beijing Olympic Games.

The women's 4x100m final will be held tomorrow evening.
