BEIJING, 24 May - Comments from gold medallist Lin Xiangqian (CHN, JSU), silver medallist Sun Wenli (CHN, SHD) and bronze medallist Yang Le (CHN, MOG) after the men's 3000m steeplechase final at the National Stadium on Saturday.
Lin Xiangqian (CHN, JSU) - Gold medallist
On his performance:
"I'm satisfied with today's performance, but it's still short of my original goal. I planned to reach the B standard. During the race. my rhythm was not so good. I'm very satisfied with the ranking."
On his Olympic Games hopes:
"I still haven't got the Olympic qualification, but if I'm lucky to get qualified, I hope I can advance to the final."
Sun Wenli (CHN, SHD) - Silver medallist
On his performance:
"I am not very satisified with my performance today. I felt really tired, because I didn't do very much exercise before the race, and also because of my knee injury. I was far behind right from the beginning of the race. But I accelerated in the last sprint."
On his advantage as a senior athlete:
"I am already 33. Compared with the young athletes, I am more experienced and calmer in the race."
On his future plan:
"I won't take part in any other competition in the near future. I just want to have a rest. I am in the first year of my postgraduat program in Beijing Sports University. That helps a lot in my training. But I have no further plans after graduation."
Yang Le (CHN, MOG) - Bronze medallist
On his strategy:
"It was not how I planned to run the raee. I just gave it my best shot. The sliver medallist suddenly overtook me in the last 3 metres, so I had no way to do better."
On his plans for the Olympic Games:
"I am only seven or eight seconds slower than the B standard, so I still have the chance to compete in the Olympics. In June there is a national Olympic qualifying race for the men's 3000m steeplechase, and it's my last chance."
