BEIJING,24May-commments fro gold medalist WU Jian (CHN, JSU), silver medalist WU Tao (CHN.LNG) and bronze medalist XU Yongyi (CHN, JSU) at the Men’s Discus Throw Press Conference at the National Stadium on Saturday.
WU Jian (CHN, JSU) – gold medalist
On the reasons behind his personal best:
“Indeed, this is my best performance. I was quite relaxed during the first attempt. And the B Standard is only 62.5 metres. After I reached that, I began to think about achieving more. That leads to further pressure. My action may have been in a misshape, so I failed three attempts.”
On his plans for the future:
“I will train the coming two months to achieve the B Standard.”
WU Tao (CHN, LNG) – silver medalist
On his performance:
“I was not in shape today. Considering my shoulder injury, I reserved my energy during the first half to protect myself from further injuries. During the second half, I realized that my injury was not that serious. So I pushed up the performance and the result was much better.”
On his future training plan:
“To future improve my skills. I will communicate with my coach and I hope my skills will be more mature and smooth so that I can get a better result.”
XU Yongyi (CHN, JSU) – bronze medalist
On how he achieved his season best:
“My performance is OK today considering I am in the recovery stage from a injury. Ever since the end of the National Games, I have been receiving treatment for my various injuries. At the beginning of this year, I recuperated well, and maintained a normal training schedule. Therefore, my performances is within the ordinary level, as good as my training.”
