BEIJING, 25 May – Comments from silver medalist LIU Qin (CHN, JIN) after the Women’s 800m Final at the National Stadium on Sunday.

LIU Qin (CHN, JIN) – Silver Medalist

On her performance:
“It’s not good at all. I’m really tired. I couldn’t even move my feet, because from the begging of the tournament, I have been running everyday, and feel exhausted now.”

On her later competition:
“I hope the 1500m can be better than this one.”

On her training for the Olympic:
“I’m going to be based in Beijing most of the time, so I will get better adapted to the surroundings here. On the training course, I will communicate constantly with my coach. My coach will come with a short-term training program, and it may challenge and suit my form.”

ZHANG Liqiu (CHN, HLJ) – Bronze Medalist

On her performance:
“Just normal. I was leading in the first lap. It was quite easy at first, and I wanted to make a final spurt. But two of the other athletes were too fast.”

On her future plan:
“I have to train harder. There is still some room for me to reach the B Standard.”

On the venue:
“The track is quite elastic, and it helped me accelerate my speed.”
